Managers' Update: July 20112011-09-07T17:10:25Z2011-09-07T17:10:25Zhttp://www.cvsclacks.org.uk/newsflash/89-managers-update-july-2011Lewis Greensupport@cvsclacks.org.uk
Following a very hectic few months it’s good to have some time to sit down and reflect and report on what we have been up to at CVS Clacks since April when we ceased to receive Scottish Government support for our work.

Contrary to rumours that we have heard are circulating we are still in business and delivering on an exciting Action Plan we developed between the Directors and staff team during a facilitated event in early March.

While we are still providing a number of the core services previously provided we have reviewed both our pricing policy in respect of Office Services and are seeking to ensure full cost recovery from our other range of development support. We have experienced a large increase in use of our meting room for meetings/training purposes and have secured a few smaller contracts for specific pieces of work.

However we are currently working up plans for the provision of new services based on our understanding of the needs of both the sector and the wider community and will be detailing this in our future newsletters. We are also currently updating our website in relation to these changes and will hopefully have it up and running in a few weeks time.

We are excited about our plans for provision of training, working in partnership with Coaching and Quality Systems CIC who have already secured accredited status with the Institute for Leadership and Management.

As members of the Community Learning and Development Partnership Team we were delighted to work with the Council’s Youth Work Team and the NHS in planning and delivering the two week Celebration of Volunteering at the start of June to mark both Volunteers Week in the UK and the European Year of Volunteering. All the events that took place were well received and helped raise awareness of the essential role community and voluntary organisations and volunteers play in improving the quality of life across the county. Plans for an open day event to secure feedback for a full evaluation of the two weeks are currently being finalised and will be circulated to all participants very shortly.

Lorna and myself have also completed training recently to update and improve our skills in relation to the ever growing challenges and opportunities facing the sector and are sure our learning will be put to good use over the coming few months as we continue to deliver on our Action Plan.

The first few days of July have brought a great improvement in the weather, lets’ hope it’s a sign of a good summer to come. Keep up your good work on behalf of the communities of Clackmannanshire and enjoy your holiday break when it comes.
